The energy we use in industry to separate chemicals mixtures account for 10–15% of the world’s total energy consumption. Chemical separations of organic liquids rely on energy-intensive distillation and evaporation separations, simply because of the energy used in heating and cooling these liquid mixtures.

SEPPURE creates a new generation of chemically-resistant nano-filters which does not use heat, decreases energy consumption by 90%, and produces higher quality products. Our technology would revolutionize chemical separation and purification in vegetable oil, pharmaceutical, and petrochemical industries by reducing the energy cost and pollution substantially. This technology has been developed for 4 years at the National University of Singapore using a S$10M grant funded by the National Research Foundation of Singapore which is being commercialized by SEPPURE.
